Rheum tanguticum
Rheum tanguticum is widely distributed in Qinghai, China. Its root and rhizome consist of the major active ingredients such as anthraquinone glycoside derivatives including sennosides, rhein, emodin, aloe-emodin and chrysophanol. Rheum tanguticum common name in Dahuang, Rhubarb or Rhei Rhizoma, is a famous traditional Chinese medicine belongs to the plant family Polygonaceae. It is used for treating many diseases, such as constipation, jaundice, gastrointestinal hemorrhage and ulcers. It has also been shown to have good anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties.
